Services for Mess Members

  • Hospital Comfort
The mess can provide hospital comfort to our members to a certain extend. The Mess will cover hospitalize comfort for the first 48 hours of hospitalization provided the member has been hospitalized for more than 24 hours.  These benefits can include gift baskets, gift card, TV rental, parking, flowers, sundries, magazines, books, get well cards up to 25$ per day (receipt are required).  If member is in imposed restriction or if alone in the NCR, we can arrange to visit member in hospital and provide support.

All claims to recover expenses incurred towards provision of comfort items to hospitalized CF personnel must be processed through the CFSG(O-G) NPF accounting section (5CBS, Pearkes Bldg) using attached request for payment form.  Each such submitted form must be legibly signed by Unit Clerk, Unit Commanding Officer and Claimant (or his representative), must have the HST broken down and be accompanied by all original supporting documents (hospitalization admission and discharge/invoices/receipts). Along with these documents, each claimant must submit a completed and signed Direct Fund Transfer form so that direct payment may be processed and the whole procedure expedited.

Unfortunately, there are no Hospital comfort for members that undergo a day surgery.  Once again, if member is in imposed restriction or if alone in the NCR, we can arrange to visit member in hospital and provide support. For hospital comforts over 48 hours, only the benefits covered via Support our Troops are applicable.
