The Youth of Parents Who've Experienced Trauma (YPET) program is an activity-based educational support program developed and designed to support military connected youth who are navigating the complexities of living with a parent or guardian who has an Operational Stress Injury (OSI).

When living with an adult who has an OSI, youth may find it challenging to understand the changes that come along with a diagnosis of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), or the impact of illnesses such as anxiety depression, and/or addiction.

The YPET program provides education and resources about operational stress injuries as well as ways to develop healthy coping strategies and self-care, along with a deeper understanding about the importance of self.

YPET is open to youth between the ages of 12-17 and will provide a safe place for peers to share their experiences with each other while being supported by adults who can aid them in maintaining their mental health as well as building and maintaining a healthy relationship with their parents.
