Military & General Public Fitness Classes

Men and women lifting weights

Unit PT

This is a cardio/strength mixed class with minimal equipment and minimal rest.  Focus on body weight exercises, quick transitions and easy fundamental exercises that do not take a lot of time to explain how they are done. This is a high intensity group fitness class.

Military Lane Swim

Lane Swim open to actively serving military members, DND, and NPF staff with a PSP Plan Membership. 

  • Time:  Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday: 1145 - 1300
  • Location:  Fitness & Sports Centre Pool

Spin

Open to actively serving military personnel, DND and NPF staff with a PSP Plan Membership, classes are high-energy geared to every fitness level.  Ride at your own pace with motivating guidance.

  • Time:  Tuesdays from 1200 to 1300
  • Location:  Fitness & Sports Centre Reconditioning Room

Yoga

Open to actively serving military, DND and NPF staff with PSP Plan Memberships, train with gentle sequences linking breath and movement.

  • Time:  Thursdays 1200 to 1300
  • Location:  Fitness & Sports Centre

Practice FORCE Test

Train with purpose in the hands-on session, exactly as it appears on test day.

  • Time:  Held the first Thursday of each month from 0800 to 0900 on the right hand side of the gymnasium
  • Location: Fitness & Sports Centre gymnasium

Force Prep

Prepare for your FORCE test with PSP guidance.

  • Time:  1200

Strength & Conditioning

An instructor led class accommodating all strength and fitness levels.  The first half of the workout focuses on muscular strength via compound lifts such as squats, bench press and deadlifts.  The second half of the workout focuses on muscular and cardiovascular endurance through various MetCons (i.e. Circuits, HIIT, AMRAPS).

The class is open free to actively serving military and general public with PSP Plan Memberships.  Drop in fees apply to Non-PSP Plan members.  All non-military participants must complete a Par-Q prior to their first class to participate.

Strength For Her

Open to actively serving military, DND and NPF staff with PSP Plan Memberships, learn the basics of safe and effective strength training for all fitness levels.

  • Time:  Tuesday and Fridays 0730 to 0830
  • Location:  Fitness & Sports Centre

Mobility

Stretch, strengthen, balance and move freely with guided exercises open to actively service military personnel, DND and NPF staff with PSP Plan Memberships.
