MFS Greenwood Mental Health Services

MFS Greenwood offers a range of mental health programs and services to support families, including counselling services, family and peer support, and crisis intervention.

Counselling sessions are short term, confidential and provided by qualified mental health professionals.

Support can be accessed for a variety of reasons; including but not limited to: 

  • Mental health concerns
  • Work-related separations
  • Parenting challenges
  • Relationship issues
  • Separation and divorce
  • Grief and loss
  • Relocation
  • Extended family separation
  • Family violence

  • Initial needs screening, referral and assessment  
  • Conflict management   
  • Confidential, short-term counselling and crisis support 
  • Individual, family and couples counselling

  • Support for caregivers and children coping with illness, injury and/or loss  
  • Support in navigating the multitude of services and resources available to military families

Our Mental Health Team

Family Liaison Officer 

The Family Liaison Officer (FLO) works with the Transition Centre to provide specialized services and support to the families of military personnel who are coping with an illness or injury, and families of the fallen.  The FLO is available to help families cope with all phases of the member’s recovery, rehabilitation, and reintegration, regardless of whether the member is returning to service or transitioning through the release process. 

Family Counsellor 

The Family Counsellor provides short-term supportive counselling to military families. The Family Counsellor can work with you to find solutions and new coping tools to issues that arise, as well as help navigate other military and community resources.
