Child Care Options

ON BASE CHILD CARE 

American Services open to all SHAPIANS except children of Teachers and Civilian members. Registration is through Parent Central Services of the Children Youth Social Services (CYSS), +32-(0)65-44-5612

• 1st Priority: dual working families and/or single working parents
• 2nd Priority: families with one parent full and one part time
• 3rd Priority: everyone else

SCHOOL AGE SERVICES GR. 1-6

• No monthly plan book one month in advance for hourly dependant on spots available
• Typically hourly care is available and not a problem for our parents to register their child(ren). Registration one month in advance.
• Summer camps/holiday weeks available easy registration 

CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTRE AGES 0-5

• Hourly and regular care spots/fulltime care. Always a wait list for fulltime care and priority is given to priority one families.
• For hourly care a parent must call a month in advance, entitled to four hours a week, limited spots available 

TEEN CENTRE/YOUTH SERVICES AGES 12-18

• Teens may sign themselves in and out
• Drop in centre, not care
• Summer and during school holidays supervised structured programs run from 08:00 -13:00 hrs. 13:00-18:00 hrs drop in centre is open.
• During the summer an average of two week long trips out of country are organized limited spaces

OFF BASE CHILD CARE

• Ages 0-2.5 may be enrolled in private daycare services through their commune. Spaces are on a first come first served basis.
• Children may easily attend their local commune school and have access to a wide range of before and after school care. Childcare hours are from 06:00 – 18:00 hrs.
• Easy access to a variety of local summer camps, all camps and schools are French.
