Whether you are looking to attend post-secondary or looking for a school to meet your child’s needs, Cold Lake offers a variety of educational choices to meet your family’s needs and help you develop good foundations for overall health, wellness, and continued learning.
  • School Boundaries and Districts
    Lakeland Catholic School District No. 150 and Northern Lights School Division No. 69 serve the Cold Lake area.
  • Preschool or Early Childhood Education Programs

    Preschool, Jr. Kindergarten, or Early Childhood programs are offered in Alberta, with schools in Cold Lake offering different programs. However, it is important to note, these programs are fee based.  There are exemptions for Early Childhood Education to be part of the child’s education program based on specific eligibility.

    There are a number of preschool and nursery schools in Cold Lake outside of the local schools as well. Some also offer child care services to include casual support.

    Despite being a smaller community, Cold Lake features public, Catholic, and French immersion schools that span elementary and secondary education. Cold Lake Schools include:

    Although there are no major Universities in Cold Lake, there are two colleges that offer some post-secondary options. These colleges include: 

    • Portage College is an accredited college with a variety of programs and course offerings.  
    • Lakeland College is an accredited college offering a wide range of programs and course offerings.  
  • Alternative Schools
    Northern Lights Outreach School:A non-traditional learning environment for high school students to learn with blended educational practices.
