How can local Bases/Wings implement the updates to the program?
Local Bases/Wings (B/W) will follow detailed guidelines by the CAF Sports Office and receive support from sports coordinators to ensure consistent implementation.

How will the regions manage sports that don’t lead to a national championship?
Each region will have the flexibility to organize and support these sports based on local participation rates, interest and resources availability.

What financial support is available for participants in the CAF Sports Program?
Financial support, which includes public and non-public funding allocation provided by the CAF Chain of Command to the Personnel Support Programs (PSP), will be available to plan and deliver programs on behalf of the CAF.

Who is responsible for delivering sports programs within the CAF?
Sports are a public mandate and responsibility (APS-110) at the local and international levels. Non-public funds are leveraged at each level to enhance CAF participation and experience in sports.
- Local and Regional: The functional authority for these programs are the Commands in which funds are provided to each Base Commander, who are responsible to distribute funding allocation based on operational priorities.
- National & International: The functional authority for these programs is the Chief Military Personnel.

What are the supplementary sports for the upcoming period?
The following supplementary sports will be offered in the 2025-26 fiscal year (FY) within each region. This is in preparation for implementation of the 2026-27 fiscal year at the regional level:
- 3x3 Basketball Women’s
- Curling (mixed)
- Functional Fitness
- Powerlifting

Who is eligible to participate in CAF Sports?
All CAF members, including regular and reserve forces and OUTCAN, are eligible to participate in CAF Sports as athletes, coaches, officials or athletic trainers.
CFMWS employees and veterans are eligible to participate in CAF Sports as coaches, officials and/or athletic trainers only.

This approach balances national focus with regional flexibility, ensuring broad participation and resource efficiency.
To optimize resources, increase participation, and provide more comprehensive training, competition cycles and opportunities through the rotating national championships. -
