Active transportation helps improve physical fitness, reduce stress and enhance daily performance without requiring additional training time. This is about working movement into what you already do.

Getting Started

Start Small

  • Begin by walking short distances, such as parking farther away from your destination.
  • Replace one short trip per day with walking.

Build Momentum

  • Commit to cycling or walking at least once per week.
  • Increase gradually as confidence improves.

The goal is progress not perfection.

How to Do it

Walk & Talk

  • Suggest it to your team.
  • Keep it simple and short.
  • Follow up with notes.

Biking

  • Check your bike (tires, brakes, helmet).
  • Start with short distances.
  • Use safer routes where possible.

Walking

  • Pick a route you feel comfortable with.
  • Wear good footwear.
  • Track distance using an app or estimate.
