By families, for families. The Board of Directors of the Mainland BC MFRC Society is made up of volunteers, at least 51% of whom are CAF family members.

Thank you for your interest in joining the Mainland BC MFRC Board of Directors. This page provides a brief overview of who we are, what we do, and the essential role our board plays in supporting Military families across Mainland BC.

The Role of Board Members

As a governance board, our directors provide leadership, accountability, and advocacy to help advance our mission. Key responsibilities include:

  • Setting strategic direction and policy

  • Providing financial oversight

  • Ensuring legal and ethical integrity

  • Championing the needs of Military families

This is a board with a collaborative spirit, united by a shared commitment to those who serve and the families who support them.

Board Meetings

The board meets monthly on the fourth Tuesday at 7:00 PM, with no scheduled meetings in July, August, or December. Meetings take place virtually and last approximately 1 hour.

Our Mission

The Mainland BC MFRC empowers individuals navigating the complexities of Military life by:

  • Maintaining connections and nurturing relationships across diverse communities
  • Directing families toward resources for wellness and personal growth
  • Assisting families through deployments and relocations

We do this to cultivate resilience and strength in families, enabling them to flourish amidst the unique demands of Military life.

Who We Serve

We proudly serve the families of:

  • Regular Force personnel

  • Reserve Force personnel

  • Veterans and medically released members

While many of the families we support are connected to the Army Reserve, our reach also includes families from the Navy Reserve unit HMCS Discovery in Stanley Park and the Air Force Reserve unit 192 Construction Engineering Flight in Aldergrove. Army Reserve units are active in communities throughout the province.

Our services are also available to families of Veterans, including those who have been medically released.

Our programs are designed to support the well-being and connection of Military families, and include:

  • Child and youth development programs

  • Family and relocation support services

  • Mental health and wellness resources

  • Community-building events and workshops
