Meet the Military Family Services Greenwood, Senior Manager – Stephanie Vatcher
Stephanie is an accomplished, strategic leader and has a profound dedication to supporting military and veteran families in the local community. Stephanie’s work and volunteer experience along with her strong educational background in business has given her the opportunity to work in the areas of leadership, business and financial management and community-based programming.
Stephanie has spent over six years in a leadership role as the Branch Manager at Scotiabank in Greenwood, NS. During her tenure as Branch Manager, she successfully guided the Branch through three organizational changes which resulted in staff growth, an increase in client base and collaborative partnerships.
Stephanie holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration as well as several financial certifications. Her volunteer experience includes participation in the Berwick and District School Food for All, 14 Wing Combined Charities Festival of Trees, West Kings High School Graduation Programs and Chairperson (2020-2021) and board member at large (2018-2020) for the Greenwood Military Family Resource Centre (GMFRC) Board of Directors.
Over the next few months, Stephanie will focus her efforts on the recruitment of Military Family Advisory Committee members, fostering collaborative community partnerships and the continued delivery of programs and services that address military journey transitional challenges including geographical relocations due to postings; absences from family due to operational tempo; and military-to-civilian transitions.
The transition of the governance, oversight and delivery of the Military Family Services Program and Veteran Family Program to Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services is expected to be complete by 31 March 2025.
The Greenwood MFRC Child Care Centre will continue to operate as a separate provincially incorporated not-for-profit organization governed by a Board of Directors. Both organization’s overall objective of serving the military and veteran communities in Greenwood remain unchanged.
