The MFAC is a group of volunteers representing local military families. The goal of this family advisory committee is to ensure that programs and services provided by Military Family Services are meeting the needs of these families.

MFAC Composition

The MFAC strives for equity and diversity in membership, reflecting the diversity of local military families.

The MFAC is comprised of 5-12 individuals, 51% to 70% of whom are members of military families. In addition to the Family Advisors, the committee includes one MFS Lead, and one Military Representative.

Time Commitment

Military Family Advisory Committee Family Advisors serve up to a two-year term. There is a a minimum of four meetings per year. Some volunteer efforts outside of meetings, such as review of key documents is anticipated, not to exceed 3 hours per month.

Participation at meetings and contribution to key tasks is expected. Members should be available to attend meetings and respond to requests to review key documents or share feedback.

Family Advisors have an eagerness to represent their community. They share their lived experiences and community needs awareness by providing input and support to Greenwood program and services by families for families.
