Community Characteristics

CFB Bagotville is located 8 kilometers west of Bagotville, a burrow of the city of Saguenay, Quebec, which up until 2002 was known as the town of La Baie. Bagotville is located at the mouths of the Ha! Ha! River and the Mars River. 

Weather

Summers are short and mild with very cold and long winters. The average temperature is 2.3 C with varying temperatures between -44 and 36 C. On average, annual rainfall averages at about 26 inches and 130 inches of snow.

Population Characteristics

As of 2021, it is estimated that the population of Saguenay is 146,593 with a steady year over year increase in population. 

Spoken Languages

The most spoken language in the region is by far French, representing an estimated 97.4% of the population. Anglophones make up around 0.7% of the population with the balance speaking unofficial languages.  

Public Safety
