This unique parenting program is designed specifically for Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) fathers. Co-facilitated in collaboration with local MFRCs and Chaplaincy services, the program aims to:
- Strengthen the bond between CAF fathers and their children
- Promote child-centred parenting within the military context
- Foster resilience in military families experiencing transitions, absences, relocations, and operational demands
This program creates a support network of military peer dads to address the unique family challenges faced by CAF members. This initiative will help you enhance your parenting skills and plan for your family’s overall wellness. The program includes participant intakes, ten weekly group sessions, and three individual sessions. This program has shown significant positive impacts, including:
- Greater self-awareness and focus on child-centred parenting
- Increased confidence in supporting children's emotional and developmental needs
- Improved communication with co-parents
- Reduced stress at home, leading to improved focus and performance during operations and absences
