Military Dads Program

It’s time to get a new set of tools, skills and strategies to engage in child-centred-fathering. The Military Dads Program has you covered.

  • 0900 - 1130
  • Kingston Military Family Resource Centre
Military Dads is a group-based program and it has been adapted at CFB Kingston for a military specific community. Goals of the program are:
  • To engage men in the process of reflecting on their fathering
  • To increase men’s awareness and application of child-centred fathering
Military Dads Program is evidence-based and focuses on child centered parenting theory/practical teaching. The program helps in developing an individualized family health and wellness plan; including enhancing the relationship with their children’s mother. A big benefit of the program is that it works to establish a network of Military peer dads for ongoing support in facing the unique family challenges as a CAF member.

Proven Long Term Impacts of the Military Dads Program:
  • Increased insight for fathers into their behaviours
  • Improved parenting skills
  • Increased recognition of their feelings
  • Improved communication & listening skills
