Military Dads is a group-based program and it has been adapted at CFB Kingston for a military specific community. Goals of the program are:

To engage men in the process of reflecting on their fathering
To increase men’s awareness and application of child-centred fathering

Military Dads Program is evidence-based and focuses on child centered parenting theory/practical teaching. The program helps in developing an individualized family health and wellness plan; including enhancing the relationship with their children’s mother. A big benefit of the program is that it works to establish a network of Military peer dads for ongoing support in facing the unique family challenges as a CAF member.

Increased insight for fathers into their behaviours
Improved parenting skills
Increased recognition of their feelings
Improved communication & listening skills
