The Essential Nutrition Course is a new CAF health promotion offering from Strengthening the Forces. The Essential Nutrition Course is made of five modules where you will gain an understanding of the impact of healthy nutrition on your performance:

 Module 1- Nutrition Fundamentals:

  1. Learn what, why, and when to eat
  2. Improve mental health and physical performance with healthy eating patterns and limiting highly processed foods.
  3. Discover tips for spotting nutrition misinformation

Module 2 - Understanding Food Labels:

  1. Interpret the quantity of a particular nutrient
  2. Understand front of package claims and the list of ingredients

 Module 3 - Meal Planning:

  1. Explore different meal planning strategies
  2. Save time grocery shopping
  3. Get meals on the table faster and with less stress

 Module 4 - Stretch Your Food Dollar:

  1. Rate your spending habits
  2. Discover tips for saving money at the grocery store
  3. Learn how to store food and reduce food waste

 Module 5 - Mindful Eating:

  1. Make positive and healthy changes to routine eating behaviours
  2. Be more conscious of food consumed and your eating habits
