Important Update: The Future of the Youth Centre

Sharing message on behalf of the Dandelion Early Learning and Childcare Centre:

"We are thrilled to share some big news regarding the future of our community spaces!

Change brings opportunity, and we are excited to share a new chapter for our community spaces. While the Youth Centre’s future was recently under review due to mandate changes, we are thrilled to announce that the doors will remain open with a brand-new vision and purpose.

A New Vision for Youth (Ages 12-17)

Starting April 1st, 2026, the Youth Centre will officially transition to a dedicated space exclusively for our older youth, ages 12 to 17.

By narrowing our focus, we are able to update our mandate and vision to better serve the unique developmental and social needs of our teens. This space will become a true hub for leadership, connection, and growth for the 12-17 age group.

New Opportunities for Younger Children

We recognize this change affects families with children under 12 who have enjoyed the facility.
  • Direct Outreach: Parents of youth under age 12 will be contacted individually over the coming days to discuss these changes and answer any questions.
  • Continued Support: For those seeking care for younger children, after school program spots are available at the newly named Dandelion Early Learning and Childcare Centre.
Thank you for your continued support as we evolve to better serve the diverse needs of our military families. We can’t wait to see this new chapter for our youth unfold!
