On behalf of the MFS US and your Canadian community, it is our pleasure to welcome you to The Evergreen State!

Washington State is famous for its breathtaking scenery and is an outdoor enthusiast heaven on earth! Canadian families enjoy outdoor activities including hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding and rock/glass hunting, just to name a few. There are some great restaurants to discover during your stay here and lots of wonderful quaint communities to explore. There are festivals on island from January to December and always something to celebrate. The Pacific Northwest welcomes tons of well known musical artists, and the residents are big time sports supporters. Let yourself be moved by the 12th man wave and experience sports like never before. Located just 2 hours from the Peace Arch border crossing with BC to the North and 2 hours from downtown Seattle to the South its central location allows for lots of great opportunities on both sides of the border!

Rainier.

Note that although all our families are posted to NAS Whidbey Island (Oak Harbor), and most reside within the Oak Harbor area, a few families do reside in Anacortes and Coupeville. MFS Whidbey is based in Oak Harbor and most activities/events are located within the Oak Harbor area.
