PSP Petawawa Pre and PostNatal Fitness

For CAF members who want to stay active during pregnancy  or who are on maternity leave and require strength and conditioning to get back to unit level PT. 

PNP3 IN PETAWAWA

Our PNP3 provides CAF members who are pregnant or postpartum the opportunity to maintain/regain their athleticism and activity through pregnancy/post pregnancy appropriate and safe programming. The program also provides military members the opportunity to connect with other pregnant/postpartum members who share similar experiences of being a pregnant/postpartum CAF member.

The prenatal program includes low to high impact, pregnancy safe workouts and exercises that focus on pelvic floor health, proper progression and modifications. This program provides our prenatal members the opportunity to maintain activity throughout pregnancy with modifications that are trimester appropriate. The program includes two conditioning/strength workouts per week as well as a low impact pool class. All members looking to join the program require a medical referral. 

Our postpartum program (which runs at the same times as the prenatal program) provides postpartum military members who are on maternity leave the opportunity to safely re-integrate back into activity in a progressive manner. This programming focuses on restoring core strength, addressing pelvic floor health, postural and movement pattern corrections as well as conditioning/strength based training. For members to participate in this program, they must be cleared for exercise by medical as well as have a medical referral into the program.

  • Tuesdays (Strength/Conditioning) | 1000-1130 | Army Fitness Centre (AFC)
  • Thursdays (Strength/Conditioning) | 1000-1130 | Army Fitness Centre (AFC)
  • Fridays (Pool Class) | 1100-1200 | Dundonald Hall Pool
