Creative Creations for Building Appreciation

Join the PMFRC Mental Health Team for a hands-on experience where creativity and mindfulness come together. 

Unleash your creativity, explore your emotions, and find a moment of mindfulness in this workshop designed for adult couples from Military and Veteran families ages 18+. No prior art experience is needed—just an open mind and a willingness to get a little messy! There is no cost to participate.  

• February 10 / 6- 7:30 PM: Artful Expressions of Appreciation Among Partners of Romantic Relationships – This session will introduce participants to the role of appreciation in strengthening relationships and enhancing positive communication through an artistic activity.

Please note: if this is your first time registering for a PMFRC program, a Military Family Navigator will send a follow up email with an additional form to complete your registration.

About this session

In this session, the facilitator will introduce participants to the role of appreciation in strengthening relationships and enhancing positive communication. Couples will engage in an interactive activity designed to practice expressing appreciation toward one another, with tools they can continue to use at home to build a lasting culture of appreciation in their relationship. 

Following the communication exercise, the facilitator will guide participants—using structured prompts—through creating an art-based representation of their appreciation for their partner. This experiential activity helps deepen emotional expression and reinforces appreciation as a core relationship skill. 

To conclude the session, partners will exchange their artwork, offering a meaningful visual expression of their appreciation for one another.
