Health Care in the Montreal Region

Finding a family doctor is an issue these days in most provinces of Canada. It’s even harder in Quebec because doctors here have to follow the order in which patients are registered on the Quebec Family Doctor Finder waiting list.

The MFRC is therefore continually developing partnerships to make it easier for you to find a family doctor. If you are new to the Montreal area or are trying to figure out Quebec’s healthcare system, a social worker is here to answer your questions. She will be happy to advise you of the resources that can meet your needs. All of your discussions with us will remain confidential.

The Health Guide (page 35) outlines how Quebec’s healthcare system works, as well as the available resources broken down by region and needs. Note that these lists are provided for information only and may be modified without notice. We therefore recommend that you always phone a clinic before dropping in.
