The YOUth Matter Advisory Committee is a group of military-connected youth ages 13–20 who help decide what programs, services, and events are offered for youth at the Kingston Military Family Resource Centre (KMFRC).

This is your chance to have your voice heard, meet other military youth, and help create the kind of community you want to be part of.

Why Join?

Military life can be tough. Frequent moves, changing schools, deployments, and starting over can make it hard to feel connected.

YOUth Matter gives youth a place to belong.

It’s a space where you can:
make new friends build confidence share your ideas
develop leadership skills

find your community earn volunteer hours for high school help plan youth events
create programs that reflect what military youth actually need

Because youth programs should be created with youth, not just for them.

Real Impact

The YOUth Matter Advisory Committee helps create real change for military youth at the KMFRC.

Members work directly with staff to help shape programs, events, and services that reflect what military youth actually need, not just what adults think they need.

Their ideas help create stronger connections, more welcoming spaces, and programs where youth feel seen, supported, and included.
