Support to Families with Diverse Needs

The H&R MFRC accepts and welcomes military and veteran families of all abilities.

We believe that all individuals deserve an environment and experiences that promote growth in all areas of their development. Our programs and services endeavour to provide for the full inclusion of individuals and families with diverse needs; some reflecting their family’s background or culture. 

Our Military Family Navigator will collaborate with families, to develop a plan that will support a positive program experience, and offer individualized support to navigate community resources and services through all areas of your military experience. All About Me

Having a family member with diverse needs comes with a lot of information and paperwork. Wouldn't it be great to have a place to keep all the information that is handy and portable? Our All About Me starter kit can help support that, with a binder to keep the information safe and readily handy for those "just in case" moments.

Sensory Equipment Lending Library

The Sensory Equipment Lending Library offers military families the chance to explore a variety of sensory tools at no cost, helping to reduce the expenses on equipment while helping to discover effective strategies that work for their individual needs.

Share & Support: Let's Play

Join us quarterly to meet and play with other families who understand the military lifestyle, and make new friends in a safe sensory friendly space. We alternate between our Halifax and Shearwater sites, and have access to a fenced in playground!
