NUF Grant Claims & European Fund Programs

This is a reminder of the 15 March deadline to complete and send in your NUF Grant claims for FY 25/26.  If you are not sure if you have already submitted for this fiscal year please contact me for confirmation. 

CAF members who are not part of a Unit Fund due to their geographical locations are deemed Non-Unit Fund (NUF) members of the European Fund. To ensure equitability across Formation Europe, all EF members have the same entitlements; however, certain entitlements are managed differently depending on location. Your family members at post are deemed beneficiaries of the European Fund.  As an EF NUF you are entitled to the following:

• European Fund Grant: Every EF member has an entitlement of €425 for FY25/26. A claim may be made for each fiscal year of the posting (ie: three year posting means three claims). Claims must be submitted NLT 15 March.
• CANEX/SISIP Dividend: FY25/26 entitlement per CAF member is €100 and is part of the NUF Grant claim form (see attached).

Please note that those CAF members here on LWOP or SSEP are dependents under the EF constitution.  If the status changes, please forward the posting messages to update the nominal roll. 

There are three other European Fund programs available to you and your family while at post. 

• Support to Family during Deployment/TD/Course: The EF provides families of EF members on NATO/UN Deployment, TD, or course funding for wellness items and services. The duration must be for at least 30 consecutive days (€100 per month with maximum of €600).
• Chalet Program: EF members can apply for chalet weeks throughout Europe with a 50% subsidy from the EF. The Full Flex option is also available which is a €250 subsidy towards accommodation.  Draw info is sent out twice per year.  The next draw info should be out sometime in March.
• Hospital Comfort Program: If a European Fund member or beneficiary stays in hospital for more than 48 hours,  the European Fund's Hospital Comfort program provides funds for amenities, parking, and taxis.  There is a similar program for CAF members.
