Auto Hobby Club

The CFB Comox Auto Hobby Club provides amenities to the do-it-yourselfer to perform auto services.

The CFB Comox Auto Hobby Club provides facilities to perform auto services. We are located in Bldg 129. The shop is well lit, clean, and offers a dynamic place to work on any of your vehicle projects. The shop provides 4 service bays. One bay is equipped with 9,000lb hoist, There is also a project bay attached to the main building that is available for long term  projects. In addition to the interior space, we provide fenced outside parking for storage, provided that you register your vehicle and pay the compound fees.

We have a wide range of quality tools from wrench and socket sets, and air tools to the more expensive ones like battery/charger, analyzers, coolant system flusher and other specialty tooling. In addition to the small tools, we have a great selection of shop tools such as: a new tire machine, wheel balancer, brake resurfacing machine, enclosed sandblast machine, floor jacks, 20 gallon oil funnel, two 5Hp compressors, pipe bender, and sheet metal press.

The rates are very affordable and will bring you hours of satisfaction. Our networking has established a great relationship with the city's parts suppliers. If you go to these stores showing your Auto Hobby Club membership they will give you their best price in parts and supplies, at no extra cost.


Membership Rates

Membership renewed annually in February.

  • Military members: $70/year
  • Associate members: $76/year
  • All others: $82/year

* The Club offers pro-rated fees to CF members on Temporary Duty(TD). The fee is established on a case-by-case basis, depending on duration of stay. Please provide proof of your TD, such as a course message or have an e-mail forwarded from your organization to the Club using the email above.

Other Fees

Using any service bay and tools are included in your annual membership. Long term car storage is $20/month and project bay rental is $100 a month for the first three months then after that it goes up to $200 a month (prepaid). Send a request to our treasurer using the project compound registration form.


New Memberships & Renewals

New memberships require a safety walk around of the facility and an equipment familiarity so as to ensure that you are aware of the hazards associated with certain machinery/ equipment in the shop. Thus reducing the likelihood of an injury.

Subsequently, upon completion of the forms a date will be arranged soonest to complete all this and your name will be added to a master list kept at the MP shacks to sign the club key in and out as you require.
