Backcountry Hunters & Anglers Club
Who are we?
19WBHA is a club that provides a community for those interested in outdoor pursuits and meeting for social events with like-minded people. Our aim is to be a point of contact to help people get involved but have know idea where to start, or those that are new to the area and wanting to learn the rules and regulations, as well as getting the 19 Wing community involved in conservation.
We provide intro classes to learn about fishing, hunting, and shellfish harvesting.
Backcountry Hunters & Anglers (BHA) seeks to ensure North America's outdoor heritage of hunting and fishing in a natural setting, through education and work on behalf of wild public lands, waters, and wildlife.

Membership
Membership in 19WBHA shall be open to all Defense team members of 19 Wing Comox, as well as Veterans of the CAF.
a. Regular $35 : Active Canadian Forces Members and Veterans
b. Associate $40: All other participants, including any person who has been invited to join and has been approved by the Executive.
To join: Club membership requires being a current paid member of BHA, discounted rates are set out by the parent organization. Register HERE and provide proof of membership purchase (copy of confirmation email ) to the Club President.

Upcoming Events
What to bring Hunting! September 24 15:00 2026
19WBHA will be hosting a pint night with the theme of what to have in your backpack while hunting. This will be an informal event that will coincide with TGIT. Our exec team will have their back packs with what they bring. Come ask questions, bring your set up to show others, or just come to talk hunting.

Hunting survival course. November 2026 (tentative date)
19WBHA is hosting a Retired SAR tech and Hunter, to teach a intro to Survival based around Hunting and Angling in our local area.
Open to all, but 19WBHA members will have priority

19 Wing Community Day 14 October 14:00 at 19 Wing Fitness & Community Centre
19WBHA will be hosting a table at the 19W Community Day event. Come by to ask questions about our club, or anything else Hunting and fishing related. A great place for newly poste din personnel to get a step in the right direction for their outdoor goals.

Get Your Own Hunting License! 4 Quarter 2026 (tentative date)
19WBHA is looking to host a Conservation Outdoor Recreation Education course, a required course to receive a hunting license in B.C. This is a two-day course.
Cost: $150 per person
