Inclusion Support Services

PSP Community Recreation is committed to creating inclusive and accessible recreation opportunities for all children. Our goal is to foster respect, acceptance, and a strong sense of belonging within our recreational programs.

To support children from military families in participating successfully in integrated community recreation activities, we are proud to offer the assistance of Inclusion Facilitators within our programs.

Your child may benefit from additional support if they:

  • Require or currently receive additional support in a school setting.
  • Have an established Safety Plan or Individual Education Plan (IEP) at school.
  • Demonstrate behaviours that may affect their own safety or the safety of others within a program setting.
  • Currently access services through a disability support or mental health agency.

Program Accessibility

PSP strives to make all recreation programs accessible and welcoming to everyone. However, there may be circumstances where a participant's safety, medical, or behavioural needs cannot be adequately supported within a program setting.

If PSP Inclusion Facilitators are unable to safely meet a child's needs, families may choose to arrange for their own support worker to accompany the participant during recreational programming.
