Medical Travel Assistance

We provide assistance, in the form of gas cards and bridge passes, for those needing to travel off-Island for medical appointments.

We know that, sometimes, you may need to leave PEI for a medical appointment...and these trips mean out-of-pocket expenses (bridge fee, gas, food, etc.). The PEI government offers a few programs to help offset these costs. (You can find more info about these programs here.)

We want to help! Thanks for a grant from RBC Foundation, we can provide a gas card and a bridge pass to help make these appointments more manageable for our PEI Military, Veteran, and RCMP families.

Eligibility: Military, Veteran, and RCMP members and their families who are not covered by other sources of funding (such as the PEI government programs linked above, VAC, or DND)

To Apply: Use the QR code in the poster to access the application (or use the direct link below). We recommend applying as soon as you can—please allow for a least 2 business days to receive approval, longer if you wish your cards mailed. Applicants must provide proof of medical appointment.

What's Available: For an off-Island medical appointment, we can provide one bridge pass and a gas card ($25 for Moncton; $50 for Halifax, Saint John, and beyond). Cards can either be picked up from our office or sent out in the mail (if you would prefer to have cards mailed, please allow for a longer time before your appointment).
