Ask a Dietitian: Strong bones through midlife and beyond
-
12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.
The Women and Gender-Diverse Physical Fitness and Wellness Program (Women’s Wellness Program) presents the fourth session in the Ask a Dietitian webinar series: Strong bones through midlife and beyond.
Strong bones are essential for maintaining health, mobility, and physical readiness throughout life. Women face unique bone health challenges, particularly during the menopause transition, when declining estrogen levels can accelerate bone loss and increase the risk of osteoporosis and fractures.
In this webinar, registered dietitian Christine Tardif will explore the nutrition and lifestyle factors that support bone health, including calcium, vitamin D, protein, and physical activity. Participants will also learn about risk factors such as energy deficits, smoking, alcohol use, stress fractures, and menopause-related changes that can affect bone strength.
Designed for women across all stages of life, this session provides practical guidance to support long-term bone health and injury prevention.
