Specialty Camps

Summer Chefs Camp (various ages) 

Previously our popular Top Chef camp, this camp gives participants the opportunity to expand their cooking skills, try new foods and have fun with friends! Campers will cook everything from dessert to meals to snacks, centered around the weekly theme.  A few breaks from the kitchen will include swimming and a weekly out-trip. Recipes to include those with allergies will be available, however, we may not always be able to accommodate restrictions

Location: Colwood Pacific Activity Centre, 2610 Rosebank Road (Westshore) 

Dates: 

• Week 1 (July 2-5), ages 6 – 8 years
• Week 2 (July 7-11), ages 7 – 9 years
• Week 4 (July 21-25), ages 9 – 12 years                   
• Week 6 (Aug 5-8), ages 6 – 8 years
• Week 7 (Aug 11-15), ages 9 – 12 years

STEAM Camp (various ages) 

Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math – integrating the arts (such as fine art, drama, literature) with traditional STEM activities, this camp provides kids with the opportunity to explore concepts in tactile, experiential, and innovative ways. 

Location: Colwood Pacific Activity Centre, 2610 Rosebank Road (Westshore)

• Week 3 (July 14-18), ages 6 – 8 years                       
• Week 8 (Aug 18-22), ages 9 - 12 years

Sports and Splash (various ages)

Join us for a week filled with splashing and outdoor sports! This camp will take part in daily water play, swimming twice at an indoor pool and visiting outdoor splash pads or lakes on the other days. Outdoor sports may include soccer, frisbee golf, basketball and more. Please note: this camp will spend the majority of their days outdoors.   

Location: Youth Activity Centre, 721 Galiano Crescent (Belmont Park, Westshore)

Dates:  

• Week 2 (July 7-11), ages 9 – 12 years
• Week 5 (July 28-Aug 1), ages 7 – 9 years
• Week 8 (Aug 18-22), ages 7 – 9 years

Bike Camp (various ages) 

Campers become bikers in this fun filled week, learning bike safety, cornering, bike handling, gear shifting and more. In between biking, there will be some fun out trips and swimming, however, campers should be prepared to be on their bike for a large portion of the day. Campers must provide a safe and properly sized bike without training wheels and a helmet for all camps. 

Gear 1: Campers should be off training wheels and have basic handling skills. They should be confident riding their bike for between 30-40 minutes at a time. 

Gear 2: Campers should be off training wheels and have more advanced handling skills. They should be comfortable on a bike and be able to ride between 45-60 minutes at time.

• Week 1 (July 2-5), ages 7 – 9 years GEAR 1
• Week 4 (July 21-25), ages 7 – 9 years GEAR 2
• Week 6 (Aug 5-8), ages 9 – 12 years GEAR 2

Outdoor Adventures (various ages)

Does your kid love being outdoors? Games, crafts, activities and more will all be centered around the great outdoors. Campers will go on fun and educational visits to the beach, forests, and parks.  Please note: this camp will spend most of their day outdoors.

• Week 3 (July 14-18), ages 9 – 12 years
• Week 7 (Aug 11-15), ages 6 – 8 years

Movie Makers (various ages) 

Join us for a week filled with creative exploration of film. Campers will learn what it takes to create a short film. From story boarding to the creation of props and equipment to filming, they will take part in it all. Campers will also go on out trips and swimming.
