Getting these items together now can take one less stressor off your plate if you’re ever in a situation to suddenly have to leave your home. Think of items you would like to have with you, should you have to leave your home in a hurry.  Would you be ready if you had to go?
  • Most phones have a notes keeper or you can download an app to track items you need or have already packed. 
  • You may want to list the number of each item you would like to pack or the specific item you would like to bring with you. Those favourite PJ pants, etc.
  • Make note of additional info like location, number of items, need to purchase, etc… 
  • These are not exhaustive lists and can be modified to meet your needs.  

Paperwork Checklists

Maybe scan your documents and email them to a friend or family member, just in case you forget your physical papers. This way you will have electronic copies that you can look for in your email sent folder. Here is a list of documents you should gather and have ready to take with you, in any emergency situation requiring you to leave your house on short notice:

Packing: Go-bag or bin

The content depends on you and your family. You may want to put some of these items in a bag early in the season to make yourself feel more comfortable and ready to go at any time. You may want to dry run packing your vehicle so that you know how much space you have or need.
