  • What does being a Factual Resident mean?

    As a factual resident, you will have to complete and file your Canadian Personal Income Tax and Benefit Return, paying provincial tax from the province you moved from or the province you have the most residential ties, and you will meet the residency requirement for Canadian benefits administered by the CRA (same tax package as if you were in Canada filing from the province you have residential ties).

  • What does being a Deemed Resident mean?

    As a deemed resident, you will have to complete and file your Canadian Personal Income Tax and Benefit Return for non-residents and deemed residents of Canada, paying a federal surtax of 48% (deemed resident tax package).
