Women in Sports: Golf Development Program

The Women in Sports: Golf Development Program in the National Capital Region is a program dedicated to learning the fundamentals of an effective golf swing, of hitting different shots, as well as understanding the basics of the proper etiquette for golf.

This course will take place at Hylands Golf Club, using the brand-new indoor simulators from February to 3 April 2024.  The program will be running every Wednesday from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm (except for 13 March), and will be delivered by PSP’s Sports Coordinator, Derek Lacelle, who has a vast knowledge and breadth of experience in the sport of golf.

The participants will learn things such as the following:

  1. Proper Grip.
  2. Appropriate stance and posture.
  3. Proper alignment and ball position.
  4. Efficient backswing, downswing, and follow-through techniques
  5. Capabilities to hitting shots from the tee box, fairways, bunkers, as well as the finesse. shots such as pitching, chipping, and putting.
  6. Learn basic etiquette from tee to green to be comfortable playing with any foursome.

The program will be limited to 8 committed women CAF members who are eager to learn and are looking to sharpen their golf skills.  We hope that picking up these skills will help these participants become more confident in joining the summer intramural golf league and taking on the challenge of competing in the regional team playdowns.

Spaces are limited and it is on a first come, first served basis so act quickly.

Hope to see you on the indoor links!
