Tutoring Reimbursement

In the past three years, has your family relocated because of a posting, and does your child now need additional support at school?

The SOT Tutoring Reimbursement Program offers financial assistance to CAF families to help manage curriculum transitions, especially for students with learning or physical disabilities, or health issues. Students with an Individual Education Plan (IEP) or those recommended for tutoring by their school may also be eligible for this funding. School Liaison Program

School liaisons are located at each US installation and are the main point of contact for military families and local school systems. They offer assistance with all school-related matters, pre-kindergarten through grade 12, including transition support, school selection, referrals, and transfer of credits.

Allowances & Expenses

Children's Education Management (CEM) supports the educational needs of CAF families in a variety of situations both inside and outside of Canada and have programs that are designed to lessen the potential impact of frequent relocation can have on schooling. CEM should be your point of contact for education related allowances and expenses in relation to Foreign Service Directives.

    MFSI Chapter 10; Section 12 - Education & Related Care of Dependent Children
    The intent of Section 12 is to provide assistance to members serving at a post to ensure that their children obtain primary and secondary education, which approximates Canadian standards and enables the children to re-enter the Canadian school system with as little disruption as possible.
