“Jason has been an unwavering and dedicated volunteer, at a local food bank, for over two years. His commitment to ensuring that the community's needs are met, especially now amidst rising inflation, is both admirable and exceptional.”. “His actions have made him a role model both in and out of uniform, inspiring a new generation of volunteers,” says Cpl (Retd) J. Rolston.

As devoted CAF member, Jason personifies the spirit of giving back to the community

Jason's kind actions extend far beyond the food bank. During tax season, he also volunteers as a Community Income Tax filer, with the Canada Revenue Agency. This is a free income tax filing service for those with modest income or simple tax returns.

In his professional life, Jason is a member of the Royal Canadian Navy. He began volunteering through a youth program with the Canadian Service Corps.

According to Jason, “Volunteering is more than an act of service; it is also a powerful learning opportunity. It has taught me key skills like time management and task completion.” Apart from this, he also relishes the chance to try new things and take on new challenges.

When he is not in uniform or wearing his volunteer hat, he loves to embark on exciting hikes, indulge in a workout session or two, and practice martial arts in his spare time.

Jason's tale of dedicated service to the community as a Sailor 2nd Class, and a volunteer, is truly inspiring. His steadfast commitment to helping those in need is a testament to his character.
