Kingston Military Family Resource Centre
Military children endure a unique emotional journey when missing a parent/guardian. This event will offer an opportunity for children to gather alongside their peers in a supervised separate space to engage in an emotionally supportive and resiliency-based activity. It is important to provide them with an opportunity to connect with other children also experiencing absences, in a safe and adult-led environment.
Adults with or without children are encouraged to take part in peer connection to strengthen their support network within the community while also learning more about absence support and resources.
November activity:
Use Mason Jars to create cherished memories about times spent with the CAF Member. We will supply the mason jars and art supplies. We are requesting the families bring tokens that could fit in a jar of favourite memories.
Parents/guardians will be required to remain onsite with their children for the duration of the evening.
