Extramural Golf Program in the National Capital Region

Golf Regional Playdowns

• Dates: Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd of June 2026.
• Times: Tee times will be between 13:00 and 15:00. Exact timings will be confirmed once all participants have been registered.
• Location: Hylands Golf Club (2101 Alert Rd, Ottawa, ON).

A maximum of 24 men and 8 women will be accepted for the regional team tryout. Selection for the regional team will be based on the athletes' total score over their two rounds. Six men and three women will be selected to compete in the regional golf championships, which will take place at Hylands Golf Club from 14 to 17 July 2026.

Note: Players must have a handicap under 20 to tryout for the team.

Intramural Golf Program in the National Capital Region 

All regular and reserve force members are eligible. The league will host sorting rounds to determine handicap, followed by competitive league play. Foursomes will be randomly generated following registration and sorting.

Schedule

We are excited to welcome golfers back for the 7th year of the CAF Intramural Golf League at Hylands Golf Club. Play will take place from 19 May to 25 August. There will be no league play on 23 June (Regional tryouts), 14 July (Hylands GC hosting regionals) and 4 August (Hylands GC in hosting the All Abilities Open). 

The 12-week season will include a number of sorting 9 hole sorting rounds, followed by some competition on Tuesday afternoons and concluding with the banquet. The format for the competitive weeks will be determined and communicated to all. The Closing Banquet will be held Tuesday, 2 September.

Members DO NOT have to be a part of the intramural program or be a member of Hylands Golf Club in order to participate in the playdowns for the Ottawa Nationals regional team. Contact sports coordinator, Derek Lacelle, for more information or to register for playdowns: Derek.lacelle@forces.gc.ca.)

Tee times will be between 13:30 and 17:00 each week. As in the previous season, the weekly tee sheets will be pre-populated and sent out to the players ahead of each Tuesday and all efforts will be made so that the tee times are assigned in an equitable manner.

Participants are encouraged to download and use the new Golf Genius App. With the app, you will be able to view live scoring, leaderboard, find your tee-time and follow the season long point race!

Registration

Registration opens on 7 April and is limited to 100 participants on a first come, first served basis. For the 2026 season, the league is being offered for $225+ HST per person for CAF members. If you are already a Hylands Golf Club Member, the cost has been reduced to $100 + HST per person.
