Mental Health Services in Moose Jaw

The MFRC offers support to CAF members and their families experiencing challenging situations and events. Our services are in place to enhance the social functioning and emotional well being of CAF families.

Counselling Services Available 

Our MFRC Social Workers offer general confidential, short-term counselling and crisis support, plus assessment and external referrals and liaison with community resources. They can work with individuals, couples, children/youth and families.

Our Family Liaison Officer (FLO) offer services in the form of both direct counselling and comprehensive referral services for Canadian Forces families and Veterans who are ill or injured. This service is co-located with other affiliate service providers at the Transition Centre (TC) building 64.

All services are available free of charge.

We provide confidential services and offer support and validation in a culturally sensitive environment, assisting military families with concerns such as: 

  • Deployment adjustment 
  • Coping skill development 
  • Grief and loss difficulties 
  • Relationships 
  • Depression/Anxiety 
  • Stress management 
  • Support injured and ill CAF members, veterans, and their families 
  • Aid the families of these individuals by implementing flexible and voluntary social support services, customized to the specific requirements of each family 
  • Work with individuals, couples, and families to assist the recovery and rehabilitation of the entire family unit  
  • Tailored information sessions and briefings i.e.: family separation/reunion, relocation/postings, and other unique challenges/day to day stressors military families experience
  • Parenting support and parenting education groups (circle of security, co-regulation, attachment)
  • Peer support groups/Resilience groups
  • Assistance in applying for emergency funding and advocacy support 

Services available in person or by using virtual counselling programming which can link you and your counsellor face-to-face in a safe and confidential manner.

The Hive

Our MFRC counsellors offer counselling and crisis support through The Hive, our new Family Wellness Centre.
