Scholarships and Grants in Mainland BC

Post-Secondary Scholarship

For the 11th year, Mainland BC MFRC will offer two scholarships to family members (grade 12 children, spouses, or other adult family members) of currently serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces residing within Mainland BC.

The scholarships, each worth up to $2,000, will be offered to two individuals pursuing some area of post-secondary education. This could be university, trade school, or a community college. We are looking for individuals who show good academic potential and who have made a positive contribution in their school and/or in their local community.

Community Integration Grant - grades 1-12

Moving can be difficult for young people. Whether it’s across the country or across town, when you are young, 30 kilometres may as well be 3,000. New neighbourhood, new school, new activities—all are a part of the transition process.

To help young people through this transition, we offer our Community Integration Grant for youth to use for activities that help youth integrate into their new communities (e.g., sports, music lessons, courses). This grant (up to $150) is available for families within the first 12 months after they move (either to BC or within the province).

Youth Development Award - Grades 8–11

For the 11th year, the Mainland BC MFRC will offer two youth development awards to children of currently serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces residing within Mainland BC. The two awards, each worth up to $500, are for youth in grades 8-11 and can be used to pursue art, sports, music, dance, science, or other interests.
