Workshops
- Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training ASIST (2-day course): Participation in the full two days is required. Small group discussions and skills practice are based upon adult learning principles. Powerful videos on suicide intervention will be presented. Feel challenged and safe in the small class setting as you learn suicide first aid.
- safeTALK (3.5 hours): This 3.5 hour workshop will alerts you to the warning signs indicating a risk of suicide. The workshop emphasizes the importance of recognizing the signs, communicating with the person at risk, and getting help or resources for the person at risk.
- Looking Forward (3.5 hours): Looking Forward encompasses the developmental, cognitive, and emotional differences found within this age group in presenting strategies to strengthen the protective factors of youth at risk of suicide. Relevant intervention strategies are explored through videos and case studies. This half-day workshop is for people working with youth ages 12 to 24.
- St John First Aid (2-day course) 16+: Participation in the full two days is required. This course provides all the skills required for Adult, Child and Infant Resuscitation; choking.
