Courses and Workshops Available in Cold Lake

  • Alcohol, Other Drugs, Gambling and Gaming Awareness (AODGGA) General Workshop
    Designed to provide fundamental knowledge on the subjects listed, as well as delve into reducing stigma around use, determining methods of receiving support, and how to help someone who may be struggling.

    This workshop is available free of charge and open to CAF members (regular and reserve), their spouses and dependents aged 18+, cadets and rangers, foreign military personnel on exchange posting or training with the CAF, civilian Defence Team employees, and veterans. 

    A certificate of completion is provided. This is not a coded workshop.

  • Alcohol, Other Drugs, Gambling and Gaming Awareness (AODGGA) Supervisor Training
    This program is designed specifically for the CAF and for personnel in leadership positions (MCpl and above, Officers). The course is designed to assist leaders to promote a culture free of substance use, gambling, and gaming disorders, and to reduce problematic use among members. Participants learn about substance use, warning signs, active listening skills, and how to challenge and change unhealthy workplace cultures.

    0800-1600hrs for two days.

    This course is available to CAF members with the rank of MCpl and above and/or Officers. Members at the rank of Cpl may be provided access to the course for reasons such as they are being promoted soon, they are in an acting supervisory position, and/or they are an instructor.

    A MITE code is provided.
